I really like this article. i am a big fan of herbs from different backgrounds that help us stay healthy. I am a big fan of turmeric myself. About 3 years ago I herniated a disc in my lower back which led to a lot of pain and potential surgery. Luckily I did not have to have surgery. I truly believe it was because I incorporated turmeric into my diet. Herbs are very powerful

Hi Norman, I knew herbs tasted good, but I never knew these common household ingredients also had so many health benefits too! I often use these herbs listed about except I rarely use thyme for some reason. Does cooking the herbs reduce the nutritional content in them much? Thanks for the info, Kris
Hello Kris it is nice to meet you, I believe that over cooking anything that contains vitamins can destroy the nutrients that are in them, take for example vegetables. Vegetables should never be cook to the point where all the crunch is gone, some crunch should be left and so it is with herbs cook them but not to the point where they become some and mushy, a little firmness should be left. hope this helps, thanks again and please do tell others about my site. gardenofedengardencenter.com.
Excellent site on herbs and their many uses. I’ve been experimenting with many of them for years now. I have a small herb garden as well. I really appreciate the health benefits from the garlic and chives. They can really assist your immunity system. Many of the micronutrients found in many herbs are not available in over the counter vitamins

I love herbs as they are the only plants I can actually grow. Garlic is great for stomach issues and it is also very good for cats – it helps guard against fleas. I also put mint in most of my smoothies. I always try herbal remedies before going to a doctor (to be honest I have only been to the dr once in the last 15 years) mainly because I try not to use any medicines that are tested on animals.
