    Growing new plants from cuttings is always  a cheap and fun way of increasing  your plant stock. The most important part is that it is not suitable for all plants but only for certain ones. The problem with taking cuttings it that you do not know if they will take or not,  and that is the unpredictability of cuttings.   It may take a while before you have any success, as it is a steep learning curve.
