Painted Lady Butterfly. When released in early summer, will the butterfly remain near plants provided? This butterfly lives about 2 weeks, do they remain in area with plants and flowers?
We have received conflicting information that the butterfly will fly south during colder months, if released and hatched in June, would it not live out its life in our garden for the next few weeks?
My friend has a Painted Lady Butterfly. It can’t fly because it’s wings are not
symmetrical. He and his daughter have been feeding it orange slices and
watermelon. It has lived for six weeks. Not bad for a butterfly with a two week
lifespan!
