  1. Do you know that in my entire life, I have never eaten prunes! What other fruit do they taste like? I knew of some of the benefits, but wow, they are great for you! As usual, you have great information. I don’t know that I would like prunes, so is the juice better tasting? Are they bitter or sweet? As you can tell, I just learned all the benefits, just need to give them a try now 🙂

    • Hello, Matt’s Mom my good friend it so good to hear from you, was wondering on a few occasions if all was well because I did not hear from you for so long, just seeing you made my day. Now as for the taste of prunes, prunes have a unique taste of its own it is very delicious and sweet.

The juice is really good but it would be a taste that you would have to get use to. The juice is somewhat sweet but not like the prune itself. Thanks a million for those kinds words and I encourage you to make prunes either the fruits or the juice a part of your diet

  5. Another great post and very well written. I’ve bookmarked your site and visit often.
We had a plum tree in the yard or the house I grew up in and it produced a ton of plums each summer. Kids from the neighborhood would climb the plum tree to pick the fruit and my mom dried the fruit to make prunes. Delicious!

  6. I myself have never been a fan of prunes, but it looks like they have some great health benefits! I never actually realized that prunes are dried out plums. I do like plums, I think it’s just the texture with prunes that makes me not like them, the same with raisins.

  7. I always see prunes as being these things old people eat for fibre. I’ve had them before but not too often and mostly as some dish at a dinner party. I remember them as being somewhat chewy and chalky even, but in a good way. I just stick to plums because they’re juicy.

  8. Hi Norman,
What a nice post, it reminded me of the garden in my childhood’s days. We had some prune trees and I enjoyed climbind those trees and eat the fruits while sitting on a branch. One of the foods that I used to eat was boiled apples with dried prunes and cinnamon. It is common Italian remedy whenever we are a bit constipated, and it works perfectly and naturally. Besides, it tastes great! I still have it for breakfast sometimes.
But I wasn’t aware of all the health benefits of prunes! Thank you for letting us know 🙂
    Cheers, Alma
