  1. Thank you for providing this article. I have 4 children and one of them will rarely eat pears. It is not that he dislikes them, he would just rather eat something else. I have 2 pear trees growing on my property.
I freeze pears, can pears, and eat them fried or raw. I just love them. I know an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but I like pears better than apples. After reading this article, I am just as good by eating pears.

  2. I hate pears and I never really liked them. As a matter of fact, I disregard pears at all costs in my diet because I just hate it! However, as I was reading your posts, one of the points listed is that pears aids in weight loss! That caught my eye as I have been struggling with losing weight and I will do whatever it takes to do it! After reading this, I realized maybe I should start eating pears but it would be great if you did some recipe posts on pears for people like me! Like maybe a smoothie or a fruit salad?

  3. Hi. Informative article and I did not realize there are so many kinds of pears. In choosing a pear should I be looking for organic? Is a GMO pear as nutritious?

  5. I love pears, especially Anjou! And I make pear sauce in autumn when they are in season so that my house smells amazing and I have the goodness of pears all winter.

What do you think is in pears that would make it helpful for an upset stomach, as the ancient Greeks used it?

  6. I just learned so much!! Thank you, Norman. I will be off to find some pears soon. I live in a climate that means we have to import pears and they are not always available in the winter. What do you think of preserved pears? Do they lose a lot of their goodness? I don’t think I will ever look at a pear the same way again. Thank you for such a great article.

  8. I love pears. We have a pear tree in our back yard. The neighbors will come over and ask me if they could pick some. However, I didn’t know of the nutritional value in a pear. With that in mind I think I will go eat some more.
