  2. Hello Nrichards,

Wow, I did not know there was so many types of rice. I have heard about wild rice before, but I did not know about the different types of colored rice. I see that the most common rice that I eat, the white rice, is the worst kind because of the bleaching. Thanks for the heads up, I will certainly try other kinds.

  3. So as of late, I have been on the path to become a food connoisseur. I’ve been looking for information on the benefits of grains that aren’t a staple in an American diet, so this is very helpful.
    Thank you for sharing!
I knew a bit of information about brown rice, but nothing about the health benefits of wild and black rice. I will definitely try to incorporate more of both into my diet!

  4. Hello, and thank you for shedding some light on a subject that most have not, including myself, fully understood. I have felt that white rice was a bleached product like white bread. But I got used to it and accepted it as a staple food since most Asian people consume it regularly. I am glad to know that my initial thought was correct. I will be looking for a source of the black rice for chilis as well.

  5. Hey,
I love some brown rice. Matter of fact I just had some for dinner. Yummy! The benefits are well worth it though. I did not know about all the benefits I just knew that it was pretty healthy and I like the taste.

Wild rice is ok with me. I do not usually eat it as much as brown rice.

Black rice is something I did not try yet. Better yet, I did not know of this rice. It may be tasty but it is something to try out for sure. Thanks for the helpful post.

  6. I have started trying different kinds of rice, white just seemed so blah to me and I often wondered about it’s nutritional value. I’m glad we have switched over to brown and wild rice. Clearly I have made the right decision, I didn’t realize that wild rice was an immune booster that’s good to know.

  7. I have tried to grow red, yellow or orange peppers but they always seem to turn rotten before they change color. I don’t mind green peppers but have been told that the red, yellow and orange peppers contain more vitamins and nutrients. Do you have any advice on what I could do different?

    • Hello Arlene it is so good to meet you and sorry to hear about your bell peppers. In the bahamas where it is warm, the peppers are grown in 5-6 hours of sunlight, the soil should be rich in organic, keep the soil somewhat moist and use and organic insecticide for insects.

Over watering can and do cause root rot of plants. Hope this helps and please let me know how it goes. Have a good day.

  8. I’ve never really been a big fan of eating rice unless it’s Chinese egg fried rice or Pilau rice… YUM! lol.

However, after learning about the 3 types of rice you’ve discussed, there are heaps of different benefits. So I’m definitely going to try to eat rice more often, especially the brown and wild type.

However, as for black rice, this is definitely a new one for me, so I wouldn’t mind giving that one a try.

    Neil 🙂
