Eyecare Improvements
It is so wonderful to see the sunrise and set, those beautiful flowers that grace our landscape, that beautiful dress or that stylish pants, how about seeing the smiles on beautiful faces that we see from day to day and so on. Well, the point that I am making is without those baby blues this would not be possible.
Eyecare is so important, therefore we should do all that we can to ensure our eyes are taken care of at all times. Many however take eye care for granted because they do not realize the importance of having healthy eyes. Persons are in the doctor’s office on a daily basis because of issues they are having with their eyes.
Some issues may be heredity, some may be poor eye care and then there are other issues that come about because of accidents, but whatever the cause, our eyes are important and we should not take that for granted.
Eye care  and aging
It is a known fact that as we start to age our eyes are not as strong as they once were, therefore, we have to resort to measures to help us, like the use of eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, having a balanced diet can really help at this stage in our lives.
Some common eye problems include
1.Dry eye.
2. Blurry vision.
3. Pink eye.
4. Cross or lazy eyes.
5. Cataracts.
6. Eye allergies.
These are just a few of many eye problems persons have. If you are experiencing issues with your eyes it is best to seek medical attention right away to ensure that you maintain proper eye health.
Protecting your eyes
So the question is how can we protect our eyes and maintain our eye health?
A. Diet plays an important part in eye health, so we should eat the right kind of foods that can help us. These foods include Carrots, Grapefruit, Orange, Peppers, Strawberries, Dark leafy greens, Nuts, Spinach, Seeds, Kale, Brussels sprouts, Corn, Broccoli, Tomatoes.
B. Get your eyes checked at least once a year.
C. When reading especially at nighttime make sure that the room has the proper lighting.
D. If your job consists of staring at a computer screen, whenever you can, take five-minute breaks and look away from the screen.
E. When wearing glasses, wear the properly prescribed glasses for your eyes and not other person’s glasses.
F. Roll your eyes in a circular motion and then up and down.
G. Look at an object that is near then and objects that are far.
H. Blinking and then massaging your eyes.
I. Resting your eyes also go a long way in maintaining eye health.
The final word
Eyecare is so important therefore let’s do all that we can to ensure we are giving our eyes the best treatment ever. Because our eyes cannot be replaced once they are gone, without our eyes our lives will not be as we once knew it, so make the decision today to give your eyes the best care ever.

These are not only eye-related, but include more generic exercises like headstands etc.
Try placing your thumb infront of your face, and focusing on it, and then focusing on something in the distance.

Hi Norman,
Great article about How To Improve Your Eye Sight, as I’m 50 + I use eye glass full time, since I wake up until I go to sleep.
I use to work a few hours every day in my computer, so your advice about taking a minute to look to another point to give my eyes a break sound great.
I also need to use eye’s drops 3 or 4 times per day, could you give me a tip about which are the best!.
Thanks for taking the time to write a helpful article!.
Alejandra.

Thank you for this article! I am aware that I often spend too much time staring at a phone or computer screen and that starts to irritate my eyes and even give me a headache sometimes. It is good advice to take breaks (something I need to start doing) and you are totally right that we do take our eyes for granted. Do you know of any natural eye drops that may help protect against the light rays emitted by computer and phone screens?

I would like at stress the bit about working at a computer because that can really make your eyes deteriorate quickly.
It’s also a bad idea to have the monitor up against the wall. What you really need is to position the monitor so that you can glance over it and force your eyes to focus on something a lot further away.
You then need to train yourself to do this every few minutes. Once it becomes a habit, you just do it and enjoy the benefit.
Been working in software development for nearly 30 years now, with no change in prescription.
Hello Derek it is so good to meet you, thanks for commenting and for that helpful tip. I see that you have been in the field of computer for a very long time. Thanks again, all the best to you and have a good night.

I find it very difficult at work not to look at the screen, I know that you are right and that I can’t stare at the screen all day. But I just get so focused with what I am doing that I simply forget.
I think maybe I’ll set an alarm to remind me to take an “eye-brake”.
Thank you again for this great article reminding me to take care of myself.

I have a particular interest in this article because I often suffer from dry eyes. I have noticed a connection between my diet and this because I also have IBS. I find that meat is a particular problem and I do not digest it well. Whenever I eat it regularly I get dry eyes more often. Have you found this to be an issue?

I have diabetes so I get my eyes checked every year. Not just a vision check, my optometrist takes and x ray and several pictures of my complete eye to make sure there is nothing going wrong with the idea that he can treat it early to prevent blindness. I love the idea about eye exercises that you posted. Good idea. I also like the suggestions on foods that will keep your eyes healthy. Great information. Thank you!
