  1. Sugarcane is plentiful in the south of India where I’m from. And it’s common to see people chewing on it or street vendors selling it abundantly during sugarcane season. I miss its sweet juiciness when you chew into it!

Apart from this being a natural sweetener, I think the main benefit is its antibacterial properties for the gums, teeth and mouth.

Its’s a shame that sugarcane is not so freely available or common in the West though!

  2. Sounds like sugar cane is great for keeping away flus and the common cold! I like that for sure. Of course, no one likes getting sick! I do have a question. I have never seen sugar cane in the store, well maybe because I have never looked for it. Where can I purchase sugar cane? And when I do, does it come in stalks? How do you prepare it? I have tasted sugar cane, and I know I like the taste . I am just very unfamiliar with how to purchase and prepare it.

    • Hello again my friend sugar cane is very delicious and healthy. To purchase you can check your local farmers market or order it from amazon in stalks. There are many ways this is done but here is a utube video that makes this process very simple. Hope this help.
