Our bodies are like an automobile, in order for an automobile to move gas must be added or that vehicle will not move no matter how hard you press the gas pedal while turning the ignition switch.

This happened to me a few years ago. I did not realize that the vehicle I was driving was low on fuel. The vehicle began to shut down and the wheel locked so all I could do was pull to the side of the road. I am sure this may have happened to some of you before, if not try to avoid getting in this kind of position because it is not a good feeling.

So it is with our blood, every organ depends on blood to function at its best.

The purpose of blood

Nutrients and our blood

Do we need blood? and what is the purpose of blood? the good book, the holy bible says that life is in the blood and that is so true, like the automobile example given above if there is no gas in the car no matter how fancy or expensive that car maybe, that car will not start because the gas is the life of the car

it causes the car to start, it causes the car to function and so it is with our bodies. Without blood the body will not function, the organs will lock up, and eventually, the body will die.

The purpose of the blood is to carry nutrients throughout the body ensuring that every organ is taken care of there for it is very important that we include foods in our diet that will do our bodies a whole lot of good.

Oxygen and our Blood

In order for us to survive, we must continue to take in oxygen, as we take in this oxygen or breath of fresh air as we call it, this air or oxygen makes its way in and through our lungs being dissolved by water then taken by the blood throughout the body.

White blood cells

White blood cells are like the police of the body, their job is to defend the body against germs, bacteria, and viruses. These cells are hard at work to ensure that the body is safe at all times. White blood cells circulate throughout the bloodstream.

Here again, we see the importance of blood. As we said earlier the life is in the blood, just as our vehicles depend on that gas or fuel to function so do our bodies need blood in order for us to survive.

Foods that build the blood

With all of that said we have now reached the part where we will look at foods that build the blood. Our diet plays such an important part in our overall health because without a proper diet, without consuming the right foods our bodies will become sickly and we will be faced with many health issues.

The unfortunate thing, however, is that many are facing these issues and paying the price big time. I read an article many years ago where a statement was made  “with our forks and knives we dig our graves” sad to say but for many this statement is true. But there is hope, the good news is we can add a twist to that statement by using our forks and knives to regain or maintain our health.

Food list

1. Beans are a good source that can help to build blood.

2. Green leafy vegetables are good also, it is good to include these in salads.

3. Beets.

4. Dried prunes are great, I just love the taste.

5. Pumpkin.

6. Adding fruits to your diet is a good choice.

7. Herbs can help contribute to building blood. You can also check out my how to grow herbs.

Also how to grow indoor herbs and herbs that lower cholesterol.

Other foods that build blood

Other foods may include fish, eggs, chicken, and red meat. The key here is when preparing meats, prepare using healthy methods such as broil, boil, grill, steam, or baked and eat in moderation

Other ways to build the blood

Other ways include the intake of iron and Vitamin B also having a good workout plan, walking, jogging, or engaging in activities that keep your heart rate up is good.

The final word

Our bodies are one of our greatest investments, therefore we should do all that we can to maintain good health because a little investment can go a long way.

  1. It’s obvious you have spent a lot of time building this website, and it looks great. Your use of images throughout your text effectively breaks up large blocks, and because you don’t have all images aligned to the same side of the page it helps the page feel less cluttered and more dynamic. Do you have references for your information? I would love to read some of the articles or research papers you’ve found, I really appreciate the science behind things like this. I think you’ve done a great job providing so much information! I can’t wait to see the rest of your content.

  3. I like the example that you made with the car and gas. Although, that is a bad situation to be in.

I have started to eat healthy so I think I would be in a good position. I might add that working out is really important. Finding the right diet to go along with it would really help out.

    • Good morning Daniella my good friend it is so wonderful to hear from you, hope all is well with both you and your family. Your kind words have made my day and I feel so great that I am helping good people like you, thanks a million.

If your schedule does not allow that much time, what you can do is what I practice at one time and that is jogging on the spot for 10-15 minutes from you bedroom or other room where you would feel comfortable, jumping jaxs, walking on the spot etc…

These are just a few exercise you can do from the comfort of you own home. All it takes is getting started and as you see results you will be encouraged to take it even further. Hope this helps and please let me know how it goes all the best to you my dare friend and have a wonderful day.

  6. You are so right when you speak about our diet being a very important factor in maintaining good health. Many of us do not pay attention to what we eat and how it affects us, then when we get ill, we are forced into severe dietary restrictions. For example, we are encouraged to have at least five servings of fruits per day. However, if we develop diabetes for example, these lovely fruits that we used to enjoy in abundance are now restricted.
Thank you for reminding us of the importance of eating good food to maintain our health.

  7. Reading your post/blog makes me feel guilty as the only thing I want to do now is to go back in time. The things I eat before and the low importance I gave to what I putting in my mouth makes me wonder. however, I know that from now on I’m going to pay attention and think again about the importance of blood to our body.
